After contact has been established, and if you are local to Redditch, I can provide a Free No Obligation Site Visit to where I can establish what is required from my range of services.
Regardless of the projects size, the site is assessed and measurements are taken even if it is only a fence you require.
Please note that if you wish a full or part garden design/alteration, depending on size of project, a design charge may apply. The charge will vary from site to site but will be discounted if you have Advanscape undertake the work. This possible charge will be discussed on initial site visit.
If it is a full or part garden design/alteration you require I will take a detailed set of measurements along with a brief and a budget to work to, so I can then provide you with a scale plan which meets your requirements and expectations.
I always like to provide a scale plan of any work so it can be amended, if necessary, before any work commences. It also gives you, the client, a clear representation of the completed project, with associated price, prior to commencement.
Given you like my proposals and price, it is then up to you to contact me to express your wish for the work to be ‘booked in’ to which a ‘start date’ can be allotted.
I am a firm believer in what I call the 3 ‘P’s, which is Planning, Preparation & Pride. This coupled with the above maintains my truly professional service.
An Example Of The Garden Design & Construction Process On A Part Large Garden
Measurements of the site/area in question were recorded along with a the clients brief .
The brief will contain details of what the clients; likes/dislikes were; wanted to achieve; requirements were, etc. This information, and answers given to questions I asked, gave me a clearer idea of what needed to be incorporated into the designed to achieve the best results.
The design also need to take into account areas of interest existing in the garden. These areas are detailed in the assessment (Next Page)

Awkward Level Changes
The patio area had been constructed about a year prior to my engagement. Here I noted that the lawn was lower than the patio which would make this area awkward to mow.
Also, the existing steps did not have a uniform riser tread ratio.
I recorded these areas of interest with a view to resolving these issues.

Beautiful Views
But Views Masked By Vegitation
I noted that, though the clients loved the views, they were unable to see these views from their primary vantage points which are the patio seating area and their living room and bedroom windows.
This was due to the type of vegetation. Though it was serving the purpose of masking the shed & greenhouse, the types of plants/shrubs were too big for the purpose.
The Plan

The Plan Ready For Presentation
Taking the brief & all I have noted into consideration I start to sketch the plan. I then check the plan before going over in pen, ready for presentation.
In this case, the clients wished; an informal area to the existing garden; keep the existing pond area; to mask the shed & greenhouse but; keep the views beyond.
I, amongst other ideas, wished to; make the pond look bigger; create a separate shaded seating area; make clear defined areas that nicely blend into one another and; create a path connecting the top & bottom areas.

Concept To Completion
I believe I have created a garden that now has a lot of interesting features though does not detract from the natural landscape beyond the garden.
I could have planted the garden as well, but as the clients are keen gardeners this service was not required.
