There are a vast array of paving slabs available to create versatile areas around your property. Slabs can be used for bases and paths, though they are mainly used to create patio areas. There are several different finishes and colours available that can add contrast to or complement existing colours on or around your property, or location.
There are only really two main types of slab; re-constituted and; natural. However, there are many methods in laying the slab.
Unless otherwise stated, I would always choose to lay slabs on a wet mortar bed on approximately 3” of compacted hardcore. There are many cheaper methods of laying slabs, but the longevity of the finished installation is often compromised.
